Kiwanis Club of South San Francisco installs new officers

Yolanda Gonzalez of South San Francisco was installed as president of the Kiwanis Club of South San Francisco during the club’s installation meeting on October 2, 2018, at the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco. Also installed were president-elect Patrick Cheng, treasurer Paul Formosa, and secretary Lisa DeMattei.

 

In addition, the following members will serve on the club’s board of directors:

  • Bill Benavides
  • George Kranen
  • Jeanne Ramirez

 

The immediate past president is Vincent Jones. He will continue to serve on the club board for the next year. The officer installation was conducted by Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Division 34 Lt. Governor John Richter.

 

The Kiwanis Club of South San Francisco proudly sponsors three student leadership programs: Key Clubs at El Camino and South San Francisco high schools and Circle K at San Francisco State University. We support community projects at the Boys and Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County, Martin Elementary School, Santa Comes to Town, Louis P. Guaraldi Food Basket Program, scholarships, and more. The club raises money for the projects with fundraisers such as Hawaiian Night, Lobster Dinner Dance, Murder Mystery Night, and Wine Survivor.

 

“Kids need Kiwanis, in our community and in communities around the world,” said President Yolanda Gonzalez. “Our club believes in children and wants to provide all kids with an opportunity to thrive, prosper and grow.”

 

The Kiwanis Club of South San Francisco welcomes new members who want to serve their community.
