Board and Commission Recruitment Information
Interested residents are encouraged to apply for appointment to the City’s various Boards and Commissions. Depending on the number of term expirations and vacancies, Council holds two (2) to three (3) special meetings a year for the purpose of appointing individuals to serve on Boards and Commissions. Formal recruitment for open positions generally begins a month prior to the special meeting at which Board and Commission members are appointed. However, interested persons may submit the application to serve on one (1) or more of the City’s Boards or Commissions at anytime.
Once received in the Office of the City Clerk, applications are good for one (1) year. During the year an application is effective, the applicant will be automatically applied for any term expiration or vacancy arising on the respective Board(s) or Commission(s) applied for. The City Clerk’s Office will post notices of recruitment below. As mentioned above, if no notice is currently posted, you may still submit your application to serve on any of the City’s Boards or Commissions.
