Robbery Suspect in Custody/ Officers injured
On 3/3/2019 at 9:21 am, a citizen discovered the suspect rummaging through his vehicle located o the unit block of Tanforan Avenue. The suspect stole the victim’s cellular phone and attempted to flee. The victim gave chase and was able to catch up to the suspect. The suspect sprayed a can of insect killer towards the victim’s face. The suspect ran from the victim and scaled the rear fence to the property and fled along the 300 block of South Maple Avenue.
Officers located the suspect and gave chase, but the suspect refused to comply with the Officers’ orders to stop. Officers eventually apprehended the suspect who resisted their attempts to handcuff him. Four Officers sustained minor injuries taking the suspect into custody. Two Officers were treated at local hospital and released. The suspect was also treated at a local hospital for minor abrasions before being released and booked into jail.
