City of South San Francisco Offers a Cultural Activities Grant Program

South San Francisco, CA  May 23, 2019 Submitted by Sheri Boles, City of South San Francisco

The City of South San Francisco is pleased to announce a Cultural Activities Grant Program to support community organizations and artists who wish to offer free or low-cost events and activities that will expose the community to cultural and recreational activities and programming.

The goal of this grant program is to foster cultural experiences for the community, infuse neighborhoods with the arts and increase exposure to cultural activities that will lead to a greater understanding and respect for diverse cultural heritages.

The City Council has allocated $10,000 for this grant program in the current Fiscal Year.  Typical grant awards will range from $500-$2000 and will require your organization entering into a funding agreement with the City.

If you are interested in applying for this program, applications and eligibility information are listed on our website: www.ssf.net/culturalactivitiesgrant<http://www.ssf.net/culturalactivitiesgrant> and are available at the Municipal Services Building located at 33 Arroyo Drive. The application period opened on April 22nd and will close on May 31st at 5 p.m.

Applications will be reviewed by a sub-committee of two Park and Recreation Commissioners and a staff person.  Notifications of grant awards will go out in early June and funding will be released following execution of the funding agreement.
