These are key development projects under construction that 
may affect your commute in South San Francisco.

SUMMERHILL HOMES (988 El Camino Real) site of former South City Car Wash
Alert:
Utility work continues through Friday, June 28, impacting the sidewalk and a single travel lane along Chestnut Avenue between El Camino Real and Antoinette Lane in the northbound direction. In addition, work extends to a single northbound travel lane along El Camino Real (just south of Chestnut Avenue) along the project’s frontage area. Approved hours of work within the public right-of-way are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to minimize impacts.
Undergrounding work by PG&E, at the corner of Chestnut Avenue and Antoinette Lane continues through Friday, June 28. This work will result in a closure of Centennial Trail and sidewalk from 12 Mile Creek to Chestnut Avenue. Pedestrian detour signage will be deployed as work is underway.
During this time we encourage you to please use alternate routes:
 

150 AIRPORT BLVD.
Sidewalk and shoulders closure remain in effect along northbound Airport Boulevard between S. Airport Boulevard and Baden Avenue. The sidewalk and shoulder will remain closed for the project duration. Pedestrian detour signage is in place. Pedestrians and bicycle users are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Alert:
Material and concrete pours are scheduled for the below dates, which will impact a single northbound travel lane along Airport Boulevard between S. Airport Boulevard and Baden Avenue.
1. Saturday, June 8, 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
3. Tuesday, June 11, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
4. Thursday, June 13, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
5. Friday, June 14, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Commuters can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

CADENCE PROJECT (Miller Avenue & Airport Boulevard)
Alert:
Throughout the month of June, material deliveries will continue Monday through Friday along Cypress Avenue.
Sidewalk, curb, and gutter installation work continues along Cypress Avenue. Work will proceed as follows:
  • Cypress Avenue: Cypress Avenue will be closed between Miller Avenue and Tamarack Lane from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
 
Material hoisting activities impacting Miller Avenue and Lux Avenue will occur as follows:
1. Monday, June 17; 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., the eastbound lane along Lux Avenue between Cypress Avenue and Airport Boulevard will be closed.

2. Tuesday, June 18; 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m., the westbound lane along Miller Avenue between Airport Boulevard and Cypress Avenue will be closed

HISENSE (200 Linden Ave.)
 
The following sidewalk closures remain in effect:
  • Baden Avenue: The sidewalk between Linden Avenue and Cypress Avenue. Closed for the project duration with pedestrian signage in place
  • 3rd Lane: Partial traffic lane closure due to construction fencing, in place for the duration of the project. Vehicular and pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • Linden Avenue: Sidewalk closed between Baden Avenue and 3rd Lane. Parking adjacent to closed section is reserved for construction crews and construction-related activities.
Alert:
Additional trucking is expected to enter and exit the site due to exporting activities and concrete pours on Monday, June 10, and Wednesday, June 12 from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

KILROY OYSTER POINT REDEVELOPMENT (379 Oyster Point Blvd.)
Additional trucking is expected for material delivery to the site on a daily basis (Monday –  Friday) until Wednesday, November 20 between the hours of 12:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. Additional trucks are expected along Oyster Point Boulevard between US-101 off-ramp and Marina Boulevard. Commuters may expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
 
Noise Alert:
Pile driving operations continue through January 2020. The contractor expects to install approximately 1,500 piles. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

OTHER CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO

CALTRAIN ELECTRIFICATION & STATION IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Alert:

A temporary lane and sidewalk closure along Poletti Way between East Grand Avenue and Corporate Drive remains in place to facilitate street improvements as part of the Caltrain South San Francisco Station Improvement Project. One lane of Poletti Way will remain accessible to local and through-traffic during construction.
Commuters can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Please follow signage, speed limits in particular, and safety personnel instructions at all times.

GATEWAY OF THE PACIFIC (1000 GATEWAY BLVD)
Alert:

Crane dismantle and utility work is scheduled for next week, which will impact Oyster Point Boulevard at Gateway Boulevard. Work will proceed as follows:
1. Crane dismantle: Beginning on Friday, June 14 at 8:00 p.m. through Monday, June 17 at 5:00 a.m. a single eastbound lane and merge lane along Oyster Point Boulevard will be closed between Gateway Boulevard and Veterans Boulevard.

2. Utility Installation: On Monday, June 17 through Friday, June 21 the shoulder and bike lane along Oyster Point Boulevard in the westbound direction will be closed between Veterans Boulevard and Gateway Boulevard daily from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

GRAND BOULEVARD INITIATIVE PROJECT (El Camino Real)
Alert:
Roadway improvements continue along El Camino Real between McLellan Drive and Kaiser Way. Between Monday, June 10, and Friday, June 14, construction will continue with intermittent lane closures along El Camino Real. These intermittent lane closures are subject to Caltrans approval. If approved by Caltrans, lane closures will affect the southbound and northbound lanes between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. along El Camino Real and speed limits will be reduced to 25 mph in the construction zone.
Access to SamTrans bus route service and Kaiser Permanente via El Camino will be maintained. All businesses will remain open and every effort will be made to keep a minimum of two lanes open in each direction of travel.
Commuters may experience brief delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Please follow signage and safety personnel instructions.

SPRUCE AVENUE BETWEEN MILLER AND RAILROAD AVENUES
Alert:

Utility installation is scheduled for Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14, which will impact parking along Spruce Avenue between Miller Avenue and Railroad Avenue. Impacted sections will have “no parking” signs posted.
Work will be performed in the middle of the road between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily. Vehicular and pedestrian travel will be maintained in the north and southbound directions along Spruce Avenue. Construction flaggers will be deployed to help with traffic control. Commuters can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.

There are several projects in the City led by the South San Francisco Unified School District associated with Measure J.
