Memorial Bench Dedicated to Tommy Luv Lucett Jr. at the South City Dog Park

South San Francisco, CA   June 9, 2019

We often come across a memorial bench and wonder a bit about the person to whom it was dedicated, so to that end, we wanted to share the back story on the newly dedicated bench at our much loved dog park.

Today, a Memorial Bench was dedicated to Thomas Edward Lucett Jr., at one of his favorite locations, Centennial Way Dog Park at Orange Memorial Park

Tommy Luv, as he was known to family and friends, left this world too soon, in January 2019. Today’s dedication was officiated by Janis and Michael Coleman, good friends of Tommy’s mother Dayna, who enjoy close friendships via the Oyster Point Yacht Club.

Tommy Luv’s family and friends gathered for a photo on the bench dedicated today at the SSF Dog Park.

This is what was read at the ceremony today:

‘We are gathered here today to dedicate and bless this bench in the loving memory of Tommy. This is a perfect place to remember Tommy because of his great love for his dogs. Tommy’s spirit will give rest and shade and comfort and peace to all who sit here.

For family and friends here today, and those who will sit here in many years to come, hear God’s blessing on Tommy’s bench.

God, our Creator, we ask you to bless Tommy’s bench with Your light and love. For all who come and sit on Tommy’s bench, May You Bless and Keep the; May Your face shine on them and be gracious to them: May Your face turn toward them and give them peace.’

So, next time you are enjoying your time at the Dog Park and see this bench, give a nod to a much loved son, brother, friend, neighbor – Tommy Luv.

From Duggans’

Thomas Edward Lucett Jr., AKA Tommy Love 26

Son of Dayna and Thomas Lucett, Little brother to Chevonne and Kristan, Amazing Uncle to Jisselle, Gabriel, and Destiny, nephew too many, and friends with all, has passed away 1/11/2019 in his Oregon residence. My little brother was the light of the room center of attention the one who would make people laugh. He was unfiltered and always told you how he felt or his thoughts on situations there was no hiding that it’s what made him Tommy Love. He made sure to make everyone smile before the nights end.

Tommy has accomplished so much in his short time here. From completing high school he went on to Skyline College and completed his schooling to go onto working various jobs until he found his calling as a Semi Conductor for Applied Materials. He has had the amazing opportunity to grow and travel the world for work to Xian China, Ireland, and many places within the U.S.

He enjoyed Baseball as a child, Dirt bike riding, family camping trips where he would show off his bad ass water skiing skills, hunting, beer pong, and Horseback riding. Thomas and my mom shared a special bond with horses and spent countless hours riding together in Pacifica and Half Moon Bay, from riding on beaches to taking the horses out to Day of the Horse Parades, local parades and campfires. He was a whole hearted loving person all around and our family and friends have been struck with this tragedy.

He may be gone but we will as a whole make sure he is never forgotten. We Love and miss you Tommy Love until we meet again save us a seat at the beer pong table. NO BLACK. Wear casual clothing and PURPLE to honor Tommy.
