Kaiser Permanente Doctor Will Lead the Public in Unique Yoga Class

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 19, 2019 – Kaiser Permanente is proud to once again sponsor this year’s Flower Piano event at the San Francisco Botanical Garden in Golden Gate Park. As part of this year’s sponsorship, outdoor yoga classes will be led by a Kaiser Permanente doctor and certified yoga instructor in the garden’s Great Meadow.

Dr. Jessie Mahoney has created the free classes for all age groups and experience levels. She is a pediatrician at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco, and is a certified yoga instructor. The public is invited to join in the family-friendly event.

“Leading yoga outside is amazing,” said Dr. Mahoney. “You have the opportunity to truly notice the sounds, smells, and natural beauty of the trees and flowers, as well as the sensations of the breeze or fog, and whatever else may pass through in the moment. Part of yoga is noticing and being truly present where you are. The gardens are a special place for this.”

Flower Piano is a yearly event in which twelve pianos are placed throughout the garden. The public is encouraged to play them, except during select performances from July 11th to the 22nd.
