Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA’s Pet of the Week: Emerald

South San Francisco, CA   September 4, 2019  Submitted by Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA

Calling all reptile lovers!  We have the perfect pet for you.  Meet Emerald, a young female Green iguana.  Emerald isn’t fully grown yet, so expect this lizard to reach at least six or seven feet in length once she is an adult.  She’ll need a special living environment including the proper enclosure and heat lamps.  Because Emerald will require specialized care, only experienced reptile owners will be considered.  She is extremely friendly and enjoys being handled.  Emerald also loves her veggies.  With her bright green skin and perky personality, Emerald is sure to charm you.  Looking for a social lizard to brighten your day?  Ask for Emerald ID# A865745.

Other adoptable pets are available at Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA’s Tom and Annette Lantos Center for Compassion, 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame. The shelter is open for adoptions weekdays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Potential adopters should arrive at least an hour before closing time to complete an adoption. For directions and information, call 650-340-7022 or visit www.phs-spca.org.
