PGE Proactive Shut Off Potential Areas Update November 19,2019

South San Francisco, CA   November 19, 2019

While South City, nor San Mateo County, appear to be on the list for potential proactive PGE shut off as of today, do check out which areas maybe impacted. And keep this link handy so you can reference it as needed.

PG&E may proactively turn off power for safety

Weather conditions, including potential fire risk, have been forecast that may impact electric service to portions of our service area. If a decision is made to turn off power, we expect to start turning off power for safety as outlined below. If you live in these communities, PG&E will attempt to contact you via telephone, text and email.

Please check back for the latest information as the area and number of customers impacted are updated as weather conditions change.

Outages (weather event plus restoration time) could last longer than 48 hours. For planning purposes, PG&E suggests customers prepare for outages that could last several days.

To support customers in impacted counties, look for PG&E Community Resource CentersHERE in multiple locations.

Community Resource Centers

To support customers in the impacted counties, PG&E has opened Community Resource Centers in multiple locations. Please note opening and closing dates of each center, below.

The centers open at 8 a.m. and remain open during hours noted below. They provide water, coffee and tea, snacks, ice, charging stations, WiFi, restrooms, blankets upon request and heating or cooling. In addition, mobile resource stations (vans), when available, will provide bottled water, phone-charging and latest information for customers.

If you rely on power to operate life-sustaining medical devices, participating Independent Living Centers (ILCs) may be able to cover the costs associated with accessible transportation to and from PG&E Community Resource Centers. They may also provide funds for hotel expenses, their offices as charging stations, or provide loaner backup battery power.
