South San Francisco, CA February 3, 2020
Join Chuck Heimstadt and Loretta Brooks for a leisurely walk up and down the beautiful yet sometimes steep trails and vistas of Sign Hill. We should see many wildflowers, especially the lovely flowers of the host plant for the endangered Mission Blue butterfly, the silver bush lupine, as well as the coast iris, the adopted flower of city of South San Francisco, and others.
The portion of Sign Hill included in the city park is protected, as is the brand new Friends of Liberty Park, but much of this precious open space is still in private ownership and vulnerable to development. Come see this treasure and appreciate its wide and open views.
When/Where: March 7th, 2020 from 10:00 am -1:00 pm at Sign Hill Park. The exact meeting location is TBD and will be announced 2 weeks prior to the event to registered attendees.
Registration: Space is limited for this event. Please sign up ahead of time on Eventbrite CLICK HERE to reserve your spot and to receive the meeting location.
What to bring: Water, camera and please wear sturdy shoes, dressing in layers with long pants, and be advised there are no restrooms facilities at this location. We ask that dogs be left at home. Children are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult. Young children may find the trails challenging.
