Dear Supporters,
We are grateful for your continued trust and patience as we navigate the implications of the recent COVID-19 Coronavirus outbreak. We continue to keep all those impacted by the COVID-19 Coronavirus in our thoughts, along with their caregivers and family members.
In light of the recent School District closures, Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County will also be closed until further notice. This decision is being made out of an abundance of caution in order to safeguard the well-being of our students, staff, families, and in support of our community’s well-being.
Please note that there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in any of our Clubhouses. However, with recent CDC mitigation strategies that include the recommendation that businesses and schools implement distance learning if feasible and seek to limit gatherings, we are proactively making the decision to temporarily suspend Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County programs effective Monday, March 16th until further notice. We will continue to evaluate the most current recommendations from the CDC and county health officials and may make the decision to extend or curtail this suspension of operations.
Please note that effective Monday, March 16th, all Boys & Girls Clubs of North San Mateo County events and activities are cancelled – including all community sports programs, club program events, and spring day camp, until the school district re-opens. As we move forward and evaluate our plans as new information emerges, we will continue to communicate broader community messages via email to parents and other online channels.
In times of uncertainty, we are fortunate to be part of a Club and School community centered on your child’s safety. Know of our continued appreciation for you and your family, and of our gratitude for your partnership in this transformational journey. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
With gratitude,
Aubrey Merriman
