On March 4, 2020 around 9:53 P.M., a tourist stopped at a business located on the 300 block of South Airport Boulevard. As he exited his vehicle, an unknown suspect opened the victim’s front passenger side door. The suspect then reached into the victim’s vehicle and attempted to remove the victim’s backpack from the passenger seat. The victim managed to grasp the backpack, but the suspect forcefully ripped the backpack from the victim’s hands. The victim and witnesses attempted to stop the suspect, but were unsuccessful. The suspect was last seen entering a white Lexus sedan and fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.
The suspect was described as a African American male in his 20’s, with a medium build and wearing a white shirt.
The victim was not injured during the robbery.
Officers are urging the public to contact the South San Francisco Police Department if they have any information that can assist with this investigation.
