San Mateo County is not an affordable place to live. The average rent for an apartment here in January 2020 was $3,294 per month…a price that puts decent housing out of the reach of many.
HIP Housing’s mission is to improve the housing and lives of people in our community. With homelessness rising, particularly in the current challenging environment, HIP’s Home Sharing, Self Sufficiency, and Property Development and Management programs are needed more than ever. HIP’s creative housing programs help level the playing field for our clients, creating a roadmap to economic equality by providing practical, affordable housing solutions.
As the Co-President of HIP Housing’s Board of Directors, I’m supporting the “At Home with HIP” Virtual Coffee Event by donating time at my charming cottage at the beautiful Sundance Resort in Utah. You can enter the drawing for a 3-night stay at the cottage by purchasing a $100 ticket — all you have to do is click the “Donate” button! Every dollar raised in the drawing will help provide low-income individuals, seniors, and families with healthy, stable, and affordable housing.
Ticket sales end on June 24th at 12 pm, and the winner of the drawing will be announced on June 25th at 12 pm.
Here are some details on my Sundance Resort Cottage:
Enjoy a long weekend or mid-week getaway at this Sundance retreat nestled in the beautiful Mt. Wasatch Range. Sundance has something for everyone! Year-round outdoor activities include: skiing, hiking, fly-fishing, zip-lining, mountain-biking, and more. Or simply relax and be pampered at The Spa at Sundance. Enjoy art lessons or pottery-making at the Art Shack, and wine and dine at Sundance’s restaurants or the Owl Bar, which features the original rosewood bar once frequented by Butch Cassidy’s Hole in the Wall Gang.
Package includes: 3-night stay at River Run 1 Cottage. This one bedroom one bathroom cottage includes a full kitchen and eating area, master bedroom with king bed, and upstairs loft with queen bed. The full bath with separate tub and shower is located off the bedroom. The cottage also includes two fireplaces and newly installed air conditioning.
Package also includes a round-trip limousine ride from Salt Lake City airport (SLC) to the Sundance Resort (approximately 1 hr.)
