Drive-In Movies, Fun Food, Good Times at the San Mateo County Event Center and Fairgrounds Announced; Round 2

The San Mateo County Fair is pleased to announce its upcoming releases in their summer pop-up drive-in movie nights; tickets can be purchased following the links below:
On show days, guests will drive into the Fairgrounds at 1346 Saratoga Drive, and be directed where to park. A ticket attendant will scan tickets via guest mobile device, through the car window. Tickets are $35 per car presale.
Showtime is 9pm (Gates open at 7:30 pm) and will be shown on a 52-foot x 26-foot widescreen. Smaller cars will not be parked behind taller cars. Guests will tune into an FM radio station to hear the movie’s audio.
FAQ’s
1) What time do the movies start?
Movies will start when it’s dark, but not before 9:00pm
2) Are masks mandatory?
Yes, Per the San Mateo County Health Order, masks are mandatory and must be on at all times unless you are eating or drinking. Please help us by following this order.
3) What are the rules?
-Everyone must wear a facemask outside their vehicle at all times per the Health Order
-You must come in a vehicle that fits in one parking spot
-Large vehicles such as SUVs and trucks need to park in the back
-Headlights must be turned off while parked
-No sitting on your roof
-No sitting in empty car spots, if you are outside your vehicle, please stay within your paid parking spot
-NO DOGS or pets allowed unless it is a certified service dog; if you bring your pet you will be asked to leave
4) May I leave my vehicle to tailgate and BBQ?
No, in adhering to the guidelines set by the San Mateo County Health Office, you may not leave your vehicle unless for restroom or emergency. Masks must be worn by anyone who exits their vehicle to use the restroom. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
5) May I sit in the bed of my truck?
Sitting in a truck bed is permitted – guests must stay in the bed of their own truck, no loitering around the vehicle. If you decide to back up your vehicle, you are only able do so on designated side parking spaces only. All center parking spaces will be for forward facing vehicles only.
6) May I back up my vehicle into a parking spot?
Yes, but you must park in designated side parking spaces only. All center parking spaces will be for forward facing vehicles only.
7) What time can I arrive to park my car?
Admission into the movie area will begin at 7:30pm
8) How do we listen to the movie?
Audio will be streamed through an FM stereo sound that is tuned directly through your car’s FM stereo. Tune into radio station 92.1FM (subject to change).
9) May I listen to the movie in another language?
The only language the station streams is English
10) May I bring my pet in the car with me?
Pets are not allowed in the San Mateo County Center or at the Drive-in. However, registered service dogs are permitted.
11) May I come in an RV, camper or oversized truck?
No, one parking spot will not fit an RV or oversized vehicle. It would require two parking spots and have to park in the back so as to not block other guests’ view of the movie screen.
12) Are trucks or taller vehicles going to be parked further away?
Yes, any vehicle that may obstruct the vision of other vehicles may be parked closer to the back to allow for the best viewing of all guests.
13) May I park near my friends?
Must line up for movie entry together to ensure spots are close and you must remain in the vehicle you arrived in during the movie. There is no promise you will be next to each other, we may not take special requests. Vehicles will be physically distanced per the San Mateo County Health Order. You may not exit your vehicle to sit with friends in another vehicle.
14) May I come in my motorcycle?
No. Unfortunately motorcycles are not permitted at the drive-in.
15) What is allowed/not allowed or permitted in the drive-in movie?
For the safety of our customers, we do not allow firearms, weapons of any kind, drugs (including marijuana) or alcoholic beverages. All vehicles are subject to search. All garbage must stay inside the vehicle, we are not able to provide trash bags per the current San Mateo County Health Order.
16) May I leave during the movie and come back?
No in and out privileges. There is a one-time entry; no re-entry is permitted for vehicle or by foot.
17) Where do I go to use the restroom?
Restrooms will be open. You must wear a mask and keep a physical distance of 6 feet. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
18) What happens if there is inclement weather?
We will communicate via email and social media if weather threatens the drive-in movie for that evening.
19) May I bring lawn chairs?
You may bring lawn chairs but they must stay in your vehicles. Lawn chairs must not be set on the parking lot.
20) Where are we watching the movie?
The movie will be shown at 1346 Saratoga Drive in San Mateo
21) Will there be concessions?
Concessions are available in the parking lot where the movie will be shown from 7:30pm-11pm. Menu items include kettle corn, corn dogs and smoothies.
