November 3, 2020 Election – INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR ELECTED OFFICE?
This November will be SSF’s 1st experience with District Elections.
District #2 and #4 will be placed on the ballot for the CITY COUNCIL
District #2: Currently held by Karyl Matsumoto and Mark Nagales
District #4: Currently held by Richard Garbarino
Areas #A and #B for the SSFUSD will be also on the ballot
Area #A: Currently held by Pat Murray
Area #B: Currently Daina Lujan
Keep in mind, that precincts/neighborhoods in those districts are the only ones who are able to vote. There is only ONE representative per district/area
Who is currently serving in those districts/areas that are open for new candidates in this November election:
District #2: Karyl Matsumoto and Mark Nagales
District #4: Richard Garbarino
Area #A: Pat Murray
Area #B: Daina Lujan
** Candidates for City Council or the School Board must live in, and be a registered voter in, the District/Area in which that candidate is seeking election at the time nomination papers are issued ** Note that there will be one representative for each District/Area

? Wednesday, July 8, 2020 First Candidate Seminar to be held at 10 a.m. at the Registration & Elections Division, 40 Tower Road, San Mateo. (Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the seminars may be held virtually.)

? Between July 13-August 7 is the candidate filing period
*Nomination Papers and Declarations of Candidacy are available during this time.
*Paperwork must be received by the close of business on August 7, 2020.
? City candidates shall file paperwork with their City Clerk’s office and should check the business hours of their City Clerk’s office; all other candidates shall file with the County Elections Official by 5 p.m. on August 7, 2020.
