Self-Help Plumbing Now a Click Away Thanks to SSF Aaron Gianni and His Business – plunjr.com

South San Francisco, CA  December 26, 2020

Growing up in South City, and surrounded by family-owned businesses, and raised with the ‘make it on your own’ attitude, Aaron Gianni has been successful in pretty much every venture he has entered, and today is the proud co-owner and President of Plunjr.com, a video service application that is transforming plumbing repair. This revolutionary approach to DIY plumbing has been exceptionally beneficial during this quarantine when residents may have the time to make repairs, but not the expertise for a successful job.

Graduating from South City High in 1999, Aaron quickly began his career the following year when working as a union plumbing apprentice for W.L. Hickey Sons, starting as a delivery boy and quickly rising through the ranks to become a Foreman at the early age of 23.

During his twelve years with W.L. Hickey Sons, Aaron’s experience included overseeing small family home developments to 500-unit multi-family mixed-use facilities, giving him the continued drive to create his own business, Aaron Gianni Plumbing and Consulting LLC in 2012. And in that same year, Aaron was approached by the San Mateo County Plumber’s Union Local 467 of which he is a member, with an opportunity to purchase  Larratt Bros Plumbing as the owners, Rob and Steve Larratt were looking for an exit strategy to sell their business.

In January of this year, Aaron and his business partner, Andrew Turner, created an app that allows homeowners to connect via video with a Union plumber and get professional advice on how to fix the small problems around their house. “We ship them the required parts in about two days and dispatch a Union plumber should they get stuck and give up,” Aaron tells us. “It has been an incredible response from our followers and we look forward to expanding the services across the nation.”

From their website:

When you have an issue with your plumbing, schedule a call at any time of the day through the Plunjr app. We’ll invite you to a video call while you will be at the convenience of your site. A helpful Plunjr plumber will walk you through the steps to fix your problem in real-time. They can also help you order parts for your project and ship them to your address, or you can choose to pick it up at a local distribution location. Our team will see you through your project, and if you are stuck, then we’ll dispatch a local plumber to your house to ensure that the job gets done.

Aaron, who lives in Half Moon Bay with his wife and 7-year-old daughter, (along with their fur babies Cheese, Cracker, Brie!) enjoys creating art in his spare time. Recently he built an outdoor shower made of copper and has other projects in the works.

Aaron has come a long way from his early days at Martin, Hillside, Foxridge, and Westborough Schools, and his membership in SSF High School’s ASB, yearbook, and golf team. He credits the strong family support he was raised with, along with his sister Amanda, from their mom Candace, and the early mentorship that has helped him be successful.

Love the name – a takeoff of “plunger.” It’s an LLC, so he limits his liability, in case you screw up. But it’s a learning experience! – Jeffrey Tong
