SSFPD Media Release: South San Francisco Police Capture Vehicle Burglary Suspect

On the afternoon of November 29, 2020, a vehicle burglary occurred of a trailer parked at a commercial business located on the 400 block of Forbes Boulevard. The suspects involved removed numerous automotive parts from the trailer with a combined value of over $21,000.

 

Surveillance footage was obtained from the business which captured a partial license plate number and vehicle description. Detectives utilized this information to develop a potential suspect, ultimately identified as 40-year-old Federico Flores-Ortega of South San Francisco.

 

On December 7, 2020, South San Francisco Police Officers located the suspect vehicle and Flores- Ortega. Further investigation lead to the location of where the stolen property was being stored. SSFPD Detectives responded to the location and recovered the vast majority, if not all, of the stolen property. The stolen property was returned to the rightful owner.

 

The SSFPD is actively investigating the case to identify and prosecute the additional suspects involved.
