How Can You Chose the Right Home Care Provider?

In today’s world with shelter in place restrictions, many of our seniors are alone, no longer able to participate in social activities that kept them engaged in life, that human connection that is so important to us all. Valid concerns of being exposed to COVID19 keep loved ones away, making our seniors and those home bound feeling even more isolated. Human connection is vital to us all……

We realize that no matter how much experience or how much training a home Care Provider might have, if the relationship is not the right fit, it just won’t work. It has also been our experience that if the amount of time spent between client and caretaker is not optimal, it may not work either.

In order to make a Care Provider effective we realize some of the most important things are TIME, PATIENCE, AND CONSISTENCY, in addition to technical skills and training.

Think of it as a relationship. You are going to spend a lot of time with that person so it is imperative that you get to know them, and they get to know you. There is no way we can feel comfortable with a stranger, no matter how many certificates they may have.

Human connection will always be a major factor in choosing the right home Care Provider for you or your loved one. Choose the person who makes you feel more comfortable, who makes you feel like you are not a patient, but a human being who still has a lot to learn, a lot to teach and a lot to give-  and why not pick someone who makes it fun sometimes!

At Chajinel Home Care Services, our staff is not only chosen based on training of theory and practice for technicalities of care, but also the values and the passion they bring to being a care provider. In addition, our staff are extremely mindful of all COVID19 precautions and are monitored regularly, safety of our clients and our team members is our number one priority.

Human connection is key, we recognize that being a Care Provider is much more than a job, we end up learning much more than we realize we would. And we understand being a care provider is a privilege that very few of us have, but we all need, if not now, sometime in our future.
