On Tuesday 2/23/21, at 2:26 PM, the South San Francisco Police and Fire Department responded to the 800 block of Miller Avenue on a residential fire where the garage and upstairs areas were engulfed in flames. First responders determined the residents were out of the home, but one of two dogs was missing. During the investigation, a subject at the scene was found to be in violation of a restraining order preventing him from being in contact with one of the residents. Additionally, the subject displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The subject was arrested for violation of the court order and suspicion of being under the influence.
No persons were injured as a result of the incident, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The missing dog was located inside the home, unharmed.
