Arrest Made- Shooting/ Unlawful Discharge and Possession of a Firearm

South San Francisco, CA  April 30, 2021 by SSFPD

On 04/30/2021, at approximately 2:05 AM, South San Francisco Police Officers responded to the area of Parkgrove Drive on a report of gunshots heard in the area. While South San Francisco Police Officers were on scene checking the area, officers heard approximately 4 to 5 gunshots coming from the area of Northcrest Drive and Highcrest Lane.

 

When officers arrived in the area a suspect [SSF resident] was seen running from the bushes and getting into the front passenger of a vehicle. When officers contacted the suspect, a firearm magazine and a spent shell casing was seen next to him. During the contact, officers additionally observed the suspect in possession of numerous live 9mm rounds of ammunition in his lap. During a search, a firearm was located under the front passenger seat where the suspect was seated. Upon inspecting the firearm there was no make, model of serial number on the firearm.

 

 

 

 

The suspect was also identified as having negligently discharged a firearm in San Bruno in the hours leading up to the contact with him. He was safely taken into custody and arrested for an abundance of firearm possession and negligent firearm discharge related offenses; the suspect was additionally found to be prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition.

 

The investigation is on-going, and at this time there did not appear to be an intended target of the shooting. Great work on part of South San Francisco Patrol Officers in safely apprehending a dangerous individual.

@Mel – If the gun had no make, model or serial number it was not legally obtained. Criminals don’t obey the laws
