SamTrans to Hold Reimagine SamTrans Public Meetings

South San Francisco, CA  April 23, 2021 Press Release

SamTrans will hold four online public meetings to gather feedback for the proposed three bus network alternatives identified as part of Reimagine SamTrans. Feedback received from the outreach campaign held in 2019 has been incorporated into the crafting of the three alternatives in order to modernize and optimize SamTrans’ service.

The three alternatives provide a range of service options, based around the following goals:

  • Alternative 1: Direct, high frequency service to places within San Mateo County
  • Alternative 2: Expanded connections to rail stations and the region outside of the county
  • Alternative 3: Maximize geographic coverage of service within the county

The next round of outreach will drill down into the route details, such as design, frequency and hours of service, as well as the trade-offs between different models. Participation in these meetings and the online survey will affect how certain routes operate going forward and will guide the project’s creation of one final new bus network later this year. The public is encouraged to attend the virtual meeting closest to where they live or ride the bus to get the information on routes most relevant to them.
