“We know that everyone in the San Mateo County community are equally excited as we host the first county fair in California as the state reopens,” said Justin Anquino, San Mateo County Fair Manager. “The fair may look and feel slightly different this year, but we are thankful in advance for everyone’s patience regarding complying with the new health regulations.”
“We are excited to bring the County Fair back this summer,” said Dana Stoehr, CEO of the San Mateo County Events Center and Fair. “Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, SMCEC has been the center of support for our community, housing testing sites, a vaccine clinic and home to one of our county’s PPE supply warehouses. This June, as fairgoers enjoy fried Oreos and corndogs, we remain committed to supporting our country’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19 by continuing to host Sutter Health’s by-appointment vaccine clinic.”

ABOUT THE SAN MATEO COUNTY EVENTS CENTER:
For the past year, the San Mateo County Events Center has been unable to host most events, but instead played a vital role in protecting our health care workers and most vulnerable populations by serving as a COVID-19 testing site, operations hub and supply center, 250-bed temporary overflow hospital, and vaccine distribution center for the San Francisco Bay Area. To date, the Event Center has administered 250,000 COVID-19 tests and vaccinated more than 90,000 individuals. Visit our website at https://www.smchealth.org/
