Scheduling a Vaccination Appointment
The State of California’s MyTurn system offers options for online appointment scheduling for vaccine clinics throughout San Mateo County.
Currently Vaccinating
With the supply of COVID-19 vaccine increasing, the County of San Mateo is launching a series of appointment-only drive-through mass vaccination clinics beginning on Thursday, April 29, at the San Mateo County Event Center. Sign up through MyTurn.
The California Department of Public Health has updated guidelines for immigrants, which note that vaccines — including the COVID-19 vaccine – do not count under Public Charge rules.

Free Transportation to Vaccination Sites
SamTrans will provide free bus rides on existing service to COVID-19 vaccination sites for people living or working within San Mateo County. Read more here.
SamTrans and Bay Area transit agencies are also teaming up to ensure that individuals who are eligible for the vaccine can use transit to get to vaccination sites and learn where and how to do it.
Caltrain will provide free train rides to and from COVID-19 vaccination sites for people living or working along the corridor within San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Read more here.

Dignity Health
Dignity Health Medical Group – Sequoia is now vaccinating established patients who meet state eligibility guidelines. Please see the Dignity Health Medical Group website for details. If you are not in the current vaccination group, Dignity Health respectfully asks you not to call for vaccination updates at this time due to high call demand. The website will be updated regularly, so please check back for the latest information.
Kaiser
Kaiser members can visit kp.org/covidvaccine for the latest info on vaccine priorities and how to get a vaccine when you meet state criteria. You can also call the 24/7 recorded message hotline at 1‑855‑550‑0951 (available in English and Spanish) for regular updates. Members will receive email updates on the vaccines by registering on kp.org. For more information, visit kp.org/coronavirus.
Kaiser is currently offering vaccine appointments through their website by completing an e-visit or by calling (866) 454-8855 for all eligible groups.
NEMS (North East Medical Services)
NEMS patients can find information about vaccination services at NEMS locations in the Bay Area, including San Mateo County, here.
San Mateo Medical Center & Clinics
Patients of San Mateo Medical Center’s clinics can click here for the latest information on how to get a vaccine when you meet the state’s criteria. Eligible Patients will be contacted by their primary care clinic as soon as appointments become available. Updates will be posted on the SMMC website.
Stanford Health
Stanford Health Care is offering vaccine to eligible groups. Any eligible and interested person should click here or call (650) 498-9000 to make an appointment.

Sutter / PAMF
As supply allows, Sutter is offering COVID-19 vaccines to eligible groups.
Vaccination is by appointment only. For any individuals looking to make an appointment with Sutter Health, the website to the Sutter vaccine appointment system is www.sutterhealth.org/covid-vaccine and the phone number is (844) 987-6115. Sutter continues working to expand vaccine supply and appointment availability, prioritizing patients who are highest risk according to government guidance. Uninsured Residents
Health insurance is not required to receive the vaccine.
For residents without health insurance but who do have a health care provider, please contact your health care provider directly.
For residents who do not have a provider and would like to enroll in a health plan, please click here. Health insurance is available regardless of immigration status, through a combination of Federal, State, and County programs. Call (650) 616-2002 to speak to an enrollment counselor.
Veterans (and their Spouses & Caregivers)
Veterans, as well as their spouses and caregivers can sign up here to be notified of vaccination opportunities through the Veterans Administration. Additionally, local VA clinics offer appointments over the phone:
- Palo Alto VA Clinic: Appointments can be obtained by calling 650-496-2535.
- San Bruno VA Clinic: Appointments can be obtained by calling 650-615-6000.

Pharmacies
Several CVS (800-746-7287), Rite Aid , Safeway, Walgreens, Costco and Lucky Pharmacies in San Mateo County offer the COVID-19 vaccine by appointment only. Please visit their websites for the most up to date information including how to schedule appointments.
While supply of vaccine is limited at this time, more locations (and additional pharmacies) will be able to offer more appointments as vaccine becomes available. Visit California Department of Public Health’s website for up to date information about which pharmacies are involved in the state’s partnership.
Vaccination Records
All vaccine administrators in the state report each vaccination to the California Immunization Registry where you can log in to see an official record of your immunizations. Visit their website and submit your request using this form
Please note that this process requires you to verify your identity by uploading a copy of a photo ID, and then creating an account.
