A Special City Council Meeting is occurring this evening in person or virtually, starting at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will occur in person at the Municipal Services Building at 33 Arroyo Drive. This meeting is necessary so that the City can conduct necessary business and is permitted under the order as an “Essential Governmental Function.”

Submit Public Comments in Advance:
Members of the public may address the City Council regarding items that are on the agenda or items not on the agenda. To submit public comments in writing, and in advance of the meeting, members of the public may do so by clicking on the link below. Please submit your comments for the Special City Council meeting by 4:00 p.m.

Comments received by the deadline will be forwarded to the City Council and read into the record by the City Clerk. Comments received after the established deadlines will not be read during the meeting but will be entered into the record for the meeting. Approximately 300 words in total can be read in three minutes.
Speakers are allowed to speak for up to three minutes. If there appears to be a large number of speakers, speaking time may be reduced subject to the Mayor’s discretion to limit the total amount of time for public comments (Gov. Code sec. 54954.3.(b)(1).). Comments that are not in compliance with the City Council’s rules of decorum may be summarized for the record if they are in writing or muted if they are made live.
State law prevents the Council from taking action on any matter that is not on the agenda; your comments may be referred to staff for follow-up.
Comments During Remote Meeting:
Members of the public who wish to provide comment during the meeting may do so by using the “Raise Hand” feature:
- To raise your hand on a PC or Mac desktop/laptop, click the button labeled “Raise Hand” at the bottom of the window on the right side of the screen. Lower your hand by clicking the same button, now labeled “Lower Hand.”
- To raise your hand on a mobile device, tap “Raise Hand” at the bottom left corner of the screen. The hand icon will turn blue, and the text below it will switch to say “Lower Hand” while your hand is raised. To lower your hand, click on “Lower Hand.”
- To raise your hand when participating by telephone, press *9.
Once your hand is raised, please wait to be acknowledged by the City Clerk, or designee, who will call on speakers. When called upon, speakers will be unmuted. After the allotted time, speakers will be placed on mute.
REMINDER!
The City of South San Francisco proactively provides translation of written materials for community members that are not proficient in the English language. Materials are translated into Spanish, Tagalog, and Chinese (Cantonese).
