Instead of having a plastic bottle of lemon juice in the fridge for emergencies consider squeezing lemons when they are in season and freezing in ice-cube trays. Once frozen the cubes can be stored in a container or a glass jar and use when needed.
Other popular ideas include using lemon juice to clean toilets and adding rind to vinegar for cleaning. Some people have even suggested freezing lemon zest along with the juice for a lemon meringue pie!
