Maureen Collins (Johnson) Obituary

South San Francisco, CA  August 13, 2021 by Garden Chapel Funeral Directors

Maureen passed away after a lengthy illness compounded by COVID. She was born to Thomas and Carmen (Vehrs) Collins in Palo Alto, California.

Throughout her childhood, Maureen’s parents moved frequently due to her father’s work, so laying roots for her two children was very important.

Maureen attended South San Francisco and Westmoor High Schools and attended College of San Mateo. She worked at several firms in the industrial area of South San Francisco including Woolworth, Pameco-Aire, and Genentech, where she met lifelong friends.

Maureen resided in South City until her children graduated eventually moving to Redwood Shores where she enjoyed spending time with her Pug, Sophie and grandson, Angelo. She was an extraordinary grandmother and loved spending time with Angelo at every available opportunity.

Maureen is survived by her son, Gregory Johnson and daughter, Colleen Eberle (Jim), and grandson, Angelo Eberle. She also is survived by two brothers, Kevin and Barry Collins.

A special thanks to lifelong friends Helen Drake and Maryanne Wood who continuously supported Maureen over the years.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 18 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM
