Brendon Francis Rios Obituary

Brendon Francis Rios passed away in his sleep in San Diego, California on September 20, 2021 at the age of 28. Brendon was the first born to Frank and Sharrin Rios of South San Francisco, California where he was born and raised.

He attended El Camino High School in South San Francisco. In his youth and through his high school years he trained in Shotokan Karate for over a decade achieving black belt level. He went on to City College and then San Francisco State University to pursue a degree in Psychology. He moved to San Diego to start a new chapter of his life, meet new friends, and finish out his education. He was excited about what new opportunities await him.

Brendon believed in living life to the fullest, finding an adventure around every corner. He loved to travel and he loved the beach. Being outdoors was where he was happiest, whether he was hiking, biking, climbing, or spending time at the beach doing karate or meditating. He was kind hearted and generous always giving of himself. His gifts to others were thoughtful, always consisting of something for your well-being. He encouraged others to live a happy, healthy life filled with purpose and meaning.

Brendon lit up a room with his big, bright smile, always with a positive attitude and kindness toward anyone he met. He was genuinely interested in what you had to say and was sincere when he asked how your day was. He loved being with friends and family as well as being part of his church family at Airport Church of Christ where he attended each Sunday. Anyone who knew him well, knew his goofy, funny side. He found humor in most things and loved to make people laugh with his impressions, quirky sayings or ironic way of looking at life.

Brendon is loved and remembered by many including his parents Frank and Sharrin Rios, brother Bradley Rios, grandparents Lawrence and Ruth Katen, and many beloved cousins, aunts and uncles. May God hold him near. He will remain in our hearts forever.

Funeral Services will be held at Garden Chapel in South San Francisco on Thursday, October 7th at 11:00am.
