RELEASE: San Mateo County Board of Supervisors President David J. Canepa gets booster shot Sunday, praises Gov. Gavin Newsom for vaccine efforts
Booster shots available at mass vaccination center in San Mateo
DALY CITY, CA – San Mateo County Board of Supervisors President David J. Canepa made the following statement today after getting his booster shot, a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine, at North East Medical Services in Daly City Sunday.
“I got boosted Sunday and I feel great, not just in body but in mind,” Canepa said. “As winter approaches, I encourage everyone over 18 to get boosted as we get ready to travel and be with friends and family over Thanksgiving and the holidays. San Mateo County is a leader in the state in getting shots in arms and California is leading the nation. I want to praise Gov. Gavin Newsom for traveling the state this past week promoting booster shots as we know the science indicates that boosting individuals adds dramatic protection from COVID.”
Newsom is expected to visit a booster clinic in San Francisco today.
The San Mateo County Event Center is hosting booster clinics Tuesday Nov. 23 from noon to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson booster clinic for age 18 and older. First- and second-dose Pfizer clinic for age 12 and older. First- and second-dose Moderna clinic for age 18 and older. Single-dose Johnson & Johnson clinic for 18 and older. Sign up via MyTurn or register on site. Appointments are preferred but not required.
