South San Francisco, CA December 27, 2021 by RIcardo DeOliveira, Owner
To Our Dear DiNapoli’s Community Family,
This letter is to inform you that we had to make the very difficult heart wrenching decision to end our business operations at the end of the month.
As you are aware, DiNapoli Pizzeria and Ristorante is a family owned and operated business with over 3 decades of an undisputed reputation serving South San Francisco and the surrounding communities. We have hosted wedding rehearsal dinners, family reunions, birthday celebrations just to name a few, have donated to countless community organizations including the local PTA’s, High Schools, Chamber of Commerce, and non profit organizations. Many have had their first employment opportunities with us and we have employees who have been with us for over a decade. We have served food to folks in corporations and those less fortunate who have asked for food we might have left over.
During the past two years, our business and the community has encountered monumental change due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. These changes have affected many aspects of the business from labor to increasing rent and food costs. After 32 years of serving our wonderful community, we have decided make the very difficult decision to retire, and shut down our business. We intend to cease operations December 31, 2021.
It has been our greatest pleasure to serve you the past 32 years. I would like to thank you for your monumental support for our restaurant and all of the wonderful memories you have given us. We wouldn’t have made it to 32 years if it wasn’t for this amazing community.
On behalf of myself, my family and our staff, Thank You for everything and please stop by this week and next to see us!
Sincerely,
RIcardo DeOliveira

Besides running a great restaurant, the owners were generous community members who often supported local school groups. This is such a loss.

My family and I are heartbroken. We have been frequent customers for years! We just dined there last week. Our family will miss Di Napoli. Thank you for the memories

I first tried DiNapoli when I won a gift certificate that they donated to a local school fundraiser and have enjoyed many meals there since. Thank you for the great food and excellent service, and for all of the community support throughout the years. Best wishes in the future!

Oh no where will I get my calzone? That is not right.
Sorry to hear of the closing. I guess it is true all good things come to an end. All the best Mr. Ricardo. I have been blessed to be one of your patrons as well as friend. God Bless and Godspeed my friend.
No way where am I supposed to get my tortellini pesto definitely one of my favorite Italian restaurant can’t do it you need to stay open
I loved their pizza but in the last few months it hasn’t been the same. I will miss them.
Just another bad thing to happen in a year of many bad things. A place filled with good memories and great food. (best pizza around) I remember taking the kids to Di Napoli for the pizza, and taking my ex-wife for any item on the menu. The food was so good I took her there AFTER we divorced. Di Napoli will be sadly missed.
Very sad to see DiNapoli leave that corner – they have been a SSF landmark! I hope that not just rent is closing them down, as I know there are some very greedy landlords that own some of those buildings downtown SSF. I have seen rent increases before for people – like Hot Shots that had to close years ago.
It was my family’s 2nd local favorite pizza place other than totos pizzeria and we are deeply sorry for the owners of di Napoli pizzaria my favorite was their calzones they make in restaurant and its breaks my heart to see a local place go.
I am so sorry to hear this news. When I lived in SSF, I had many wonderful meals at you restaurant. I hope and pray that when this pandemic is over, our States & Government will assist all restaurant owners, that had to go out of business, to be able to come back. God Bless you and your family and I hope 2022 will be better for all.
