SSFPD Media Release: Attempted Murder/ Shooting / Suspect Unknown

South San Francisco, CA  January 14, 2022 Submitted by SSFPD

On 01-06-2022 at approximately 10:49 PM, South San Francisco Police and Fire Department personnel were dispatched to the 200 block of South Airport Blvd. on the report of an unknown male subject down on the sidewalk, possibly suffering from a gun shot wound. A 34-year-old male victim was subsquently located in the area and was determined to have sustained a gun shot wound to his abdomen. The victim was immediately transported to San Francisco General Hospital where he is currently listed in stable condition. There is currently no suspect information and the South San Francisco Police Department Investigations Unit is conducting further investigation. Preliminary investigation has revealed the shooting is likely a result of an altercation at a nearby homeless encampment. These homeless encampments need to be monitored by either PD or Security.
