South San Francisco School District Mask Mandate Update

South San Francisco, CA  March 19, 2021 from SSFUSD Website

Superintendent’s Message on Reopening 3-11-22

Dear SSFUSD Community,
I’m writing to inform you that our school board voted unanimously last night in support of maintaining our district’s indoor masking policy until at least April 18. The school board will reconvene on April 14 to assess public health data and our community’s COVID-19 case rates, after which time the school board may move to transition our district to a “strongly recommended” indoor masking policy.

In the meantime, our school board agreed to revise its position on the wearing of masks outdoors to “strongly recommended” effective March 14.

I want to emphasize that this decision was made with the health and safety of our students and employees in mind and represents another positive example of the way our community has been able to work together during these uncertain times.

Thank you very much for your patience and support.

If you are planning to travel during spring break, please make sure that you and your child(ren) have been vaccinated and/or boosted against COVID-19. Multiple pathways are available through your health care provider, through CVS and Rite Aid pharmacies, the state’s My Turn effort, and the San Mateo County Health Department. Free, COVID-19 test kits are also available for order through the United States Postal Service (USPS) at: https://special.usps.com/testkits.

Sincerely,
Dr. Shawnterra Moore
Superintendent
