The contractor is gearing up for project mobilization at the end of June. Additional truck traffic is expected as trucks enter and exit the site. The contractor is scheduled to secure the site and set up a construction trailer as they get ready for work to begin. Minor impacts to public right-of-way are expected for this initial phase.

 

201 -219 GRAND AVENUE (ROEM Developments)

There are daily material deliveries scheduled, and additional truck traffic is expected. The contractor will maintain access to Cypress Avenue between 3rd Lane and Grand Avenue. The traffic flaggers will assist the truck driver’s delivery of materials. The sidewalks across the project frontage on Grand Avenue will remain open. Sidewalks along Cypress Avenue directly in front of the project are closed, and detour signs have been posted, guiding pedestrians to a safe path of travel.
Manlift installation is scheduled on Monday, June 20 impacting Cypress Avenue between 3rd Lane and Grand Avenue. Due to the nature of the work and the need for a crane Cypress Avenue will be closed between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Detour signage will be deployed routing vehicles around the closed portion. No impacts are expected for pedestrians.

418 LINDEN AVENUE (ROEM Developments)

Daily material deliveries are scheduled, and additional truck traffic is expected. The contractor will maintain access to Linden Avenue and Lux Avenue. The traffic flaggers will assist the truck driver’s access to the site. Drivers can expect minor delays. The sidewalk on Linden Avenue and Lux Avenue is closed. The contractor will post detour signs to guide pedestrians to a safe path of travel. Please always follow the signs and safety personnel instructions

 

751 GATEWAY BOULEVARD

Sidewalk, curb, and gutter work continues through August. Due to the nature of the work, the contractor will close pedestrian access to Gateway Boulevard along the project frontage, and the sidewalk on the opposite side of the street will remain open. The contractor will post detour signs to guide pedestrians to a safe path of travel. In addition, during work hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., a single southbound lane will be closed. Drivers can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Please always follow the signs and safety personnel instructions.

 

CALTRAIN ACCESS & BAY TRAIL GAP CLOSURE PROJECT

Work continues along E. Grand Avenue at the Grand Avenue intersection that will include the following improvements:
  • A pedestrian path along the frontage of the Comfort Inn
  • Removal of the existing double right turn slip lane and median
  • Extending the curb at the corner and relocating the traffic signal
  • Striping changes to accommodate bike lanes along E. Grand to Gateway Boulevard.
Work will result in lane shifts in eastbound and westbound directions along E. Grand Avenue. Commuters that utilize the US-101 E. Grand Ave offramp are encouraged to use alternate routes. The contractor will be closing the sidewalks as work is underway. Pedestrian detour signage will be posted, noting a safe path of travel. Due to the nature of the work, traffic control measures will remain in place 24/7 until work is complete in September 2022.
CIVIC CAMPUS: LIBRARY, PARKS & RECREATION AND COMMUNITY THEATER/COUNCIL CHAMBERS (1010 El Camino Real)
Daily material deliveries are scheduled, resulting in additional truck traffic along Antoinette Lane and Chestnut Avenue between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
The Antoinette Lane sidewalk along the project frontage is closed. Pedestrians are encouraged to use the sidewalk across the street in front of the new Police Operations & 911 Dispatch Center. There are detour signs posted to guide pedestrians to a safe path of travel.
Utility locating work is scheduled along Antoinette Lane on Monday, June 20 between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Work will result in impacts on parking along Antoinette Lane north of Chestnut Avenue. No parking signs will be placed in impacted areas.
Curtain wall installation continues through Friday, June 24, which will impact El Camino Real daily between 5:00 a.m. and 2:30 pm. As work is underway, the shoulder/merge lane northbound El Camino Real starting at Chestnut Avenue will be closed in addition to the sidewalk along the building frontage. Pedestrian detour signage will be deployed, noting a safe path of travel. Minor impacts to vehicular travel are expected as a result of work. Please always follow the signs and safety personnel instructions.
KAISER PERMANENTE – South San Francisco Medical Center (1200 El Camino Real)
Large equipment delivery is scheduled on Friday, July 8, and Friday, July 15. Delivery will require the use of a crane. To help minimize impacts on hospital operations, work is scheduled to be performed at night between the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Impacts to public right-of-way should be minimal as a result of this work however noise is expected from the equipment being moved to the roof.
MISSION & MCLELLAN (1309 Mission Road)
Large concrete pours are scheduled on Wednesday, June 29 which will impact McLellan Drive between Mission Road and El Camino Real. Work will result in a single westbound lane closure on McLellan Drive along the frontage of the project between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. as work is underway. Commuters can expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. Please always follow the signs and safety personnel instructions.
ORANGE MEMORIAL PARK SPORTS FIELDS PROJECT  
Construction continues at the Orange Memorial Park Sports Field. The project requires the closure of the sidewalk and parking on the project frontage on West Orange Avenue, between Memorial Drive and Colma Creek, and the closure of parking on Memorial Drive adjacent to the sports fields. Signage for an alternate pedestrian route will be provided, guiding pedestrians across West Orange Avenue utilizing the crosswalks at Memorial Drive and North Canal Street.

SSF 2022 Pavement Rehabilitation Project (Multiple Streets in Westborough Neighborhood)
Work on pavement rehabilitation is proceeding in the Westborough neighborhood along various streets. The work will occur between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. There will be “No Parking” signs posted along the impacted street sections. Access to local streets will be limited or restricted (temporarily closed) as the milling and paving work is underway. Minor delays are expected as a result of this work. Commuters are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Work is scheduled along the following street segments:
  • 06/10 – 06/20/2022 – Gallway Place segment from Westborough Boulevard to Shannon Drive
  • 06/10 – 06/20/2022 – Gallway Place segment from Westborough Boulevard to Greendale Drive
  • 06/10 – 06/24/2022 – Gallway Place segment from Westborough Boulevard to Greendale Drive
  • 06/16 – 07/01/2022 – Gellert Blvd segment from Westborough Blvd to King Drive
  • 07/01 – 07/29/2022 – Westborough Blvd from Hwy 280 to Fleetwood Drive

SUMMERHILL (site of former South City Car wash) 988 El Camino Real
Development is nearing completion. The contractor is currently focused on addressing final completion items and obtaining corresponding approvals from the City. The portion of Centennial Way Trail that was impacted due to construction is now open including the new Fitness Park at the backside of the development. As of today, South San Francisco welcomes the 56 new families that have moved and are now calling SSF their home with many more to come.
