Please join the City of South San Francisco, SSFUSD, and the Mullin family to celebrate the renaming of the Community Learning Center to the Gene Mullin Community Learning Center.

Gene Mullin was a long time resident of South San Francisco and a beloved teacher at South San Francisco High School. He entered into the political arena after being appointed to a seat on the City Council where he continued his service to the City for 7 years. Mr Mullin went on to serve on the California State Assembly, where his son, Kevin Mullin serves today. Gene left us on April 5th 2021 after a 3 year battle with cancer.

The Community Learning Center is operated by the City of South San Francisco and owned by SSFUSD. It first opened in 2001 after an effort spearheaded by Gene Mullin when he served as mayor of South San Francisco. More info CLICK HERE

Mr. Mullins was a very loved and respected person because he cared AND was pro-active. He helped many causes. I was on a committee with him to save Children’s Center from being closed down. So many in our community have benefited from his work and are grateful.
