South San Francisco November 2022 Elections: 3 Open Council Seats, 1 Treasurer, 1 Clerk

South San Francisco, CA  July 21, 2022

Those who might be interested in a position on our City Council (Districts 1,3,5 see map below), City Treasurer or City Clerk, are encouraged to file the required paperwork as soon as possible**. The deadline is Friday August 12th for the November 3, 2022 election. Please note: If an incumbent for any of the offices listed above does not file during the nomination period, the nomination period for that office is extended until August 17, 2022. 

All positions are for a 4-year term.

As of this date, Vice Mayor Flor Nicolas (district 3) Councilmember Eddie Flores (district 5), City Clerk Rosa Govea Acosta have filed to campaign for the positions they currently serve in.

(Note: FYI Per City website currently District 4 is represented by Councilmember Coleman and ‘At Large’ representation by Councilmember Addiego until 2024.

Candidate Seminars hosted by San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division. These seminars will cover important topics such as filing deadlines, filing forms, candidate statement, campaign finance reports, and voter data, etc.

The City of South San Francisco is a General Law City and was incorporated on September 19, 1908. South San Francisco’s elections are held in November of even-numbered years. The City Council is made up of five Councilmembers that serve a four-year term. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are appointed by Council annually in December and serve a one-year term in the capacity. Regular City Council Meetings are typically held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. In addition to attending regular and study session meetings, Councilmembers also are required to serve on various City/County/regional committees.
