LOADED AND CONCEALED FIREARM ARREST: Earlier today, Officer Castellanos conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple vehicle code violations in the area of Chestnut Avenue and Hillside Boulevard. Officer Castellanos noticed a a fanny pack on the front passenger seat. A consent search of the vehicle revealed a concealed and loaded firearm inside the fanny pack. The driver, a 30 year old Oakland resident, was placed under arrest for several firearms violations. Thank you to Officer Castellanos for your proactive work in taking a loaded and readily available firearm off the streets.

PROWLING ARREST – Last night our officers responded to the 10 block Capay Circle, after a resident reported an unknown suspect was in the side yard of their home and attempted to enter their backyard. The residents startled the suspect and proceeded to follow him in their vehicle until officers arrived and detained the 63 year old male suspect from Oakland. The male was subsequently arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail.

IDENTITY THEFT / POSSESSION OF DRUGS & DRUG PARAPHERNALIA ARREST – Last night, our officers initiated contact with a male subject from Sacramento in the Westborough Square parking lot. Officers located suspected methamphetamine in plain view in his vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed additional suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Officers also located two additional males in the area, who were from Stockton and Sacramento, and were associated to the first male and the vehicle. Both of these males had several outstanding warrants. A search of both of these subjects revealed they both possessed drug paraphernalia and 57 identification cards and credit/debit cards issued to other persons.
All three subjects were subsequently arrested for the outstanding warrants as well as multiple drug and identity charges.

OUTSIDE AGENCY ASSIST / ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, & CRIMINAL THREATS – Last night, several California Highway Patrol Officers were in a vehicle pursuit which started in Sunnyvale, after the driver was wanted in connection to an assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, and criminal threats investigation. The driver ultimately stopped on the northbound 101/380 on-ramp interchange. The driver then exited the vehicle and threatened to jump off the freeway overpass, exiting the vehicle several times and sitting and standing on the guardrail.
Several SSFPD Officers, to include our Hostage Negotiation Team (HNT) Officers and K-9 Officers, responded to assist. After several hours of deescalation and negotiating, the suspect was safely taken into custody.
Great work by everyone involved. Teamwork makes the dream work!
