SSFPD Media Release: Auto vs. Pedestrian Hit and Run Collision

On February 9, 2023, at about 9:44 PM, South San Francisco Police Officers responded to the 1200 block of El Camino Real after civilians found a 71-year-old male laying in the roadway with major injuries. The investigation revealed the victim stopped his bicycle and was standing in the bicycle lane when he was struck from behind by a dark-colored vehicle traveling southbound.

 

The suspect vehicle, possibly a green-colored sedan with a light-colored roof, fled the scene last seen southbound on El Camino Real. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was discovered to have suffered from major injuries.

 

The victim, a resident from neighboring Colma, is listed in critical but stable condition with spinal and rib fractures, and lacerations to his head.
