You may still donate blood, platelets or plasma after receiving a
COVID-19 vaccine. Knowing the name of the manufacturer of the
vaccine is important in determining your blood donation eligibility.

Donors may wear masks but it’s not required.

Here’s an email I’d received from American Red Cross

“You deserve love notes (like this one) and treats year-round. That’s why you’ll
receive a $10 Visa® Prepaid Card by email when you come to give blood

March 1-31.*

And to celebrate Red Cross Month, those who come to give blood in March will
also be automatically entered for a chance to win a $3,000 Visa Prepaid

Card!^^ There will be five lucky winners!

We love you and we like you, 365 days a year. Just one donation may help save

more than one life. “

Yes, one donation can save up to three lives.
SSF residents have always been superheroes in action.

We have two past stories on blood donations at Everything South City website:

Make a Difference, Be a Blood Donor and be a Better Lover!

Benefits of Being a Blood Donors:

Free Health Screening: You get a mini-physical. You get tested for several infectious
diseases, or gets alerted to medical conditions you’re not aware of.
You get to be aware of your blood type, an important information in case you need

surgery.

You have a healthier heart and vascular system: Research studies have shown

that regular donor is linked to lower blood pressure and lower risk of

heart attacks due to stimulation of the circulatory system which pumps

blood to your entire body.

A Happier You: When you feel you saved a life, you get happiness
enzymes which lead to healthy immune system and tend to live longer.
You create a kindness aura in the community knowing that you’re a

superhero who saved lives.

One blood donation takes 500 calories for your body to replace them. You get 500

calories snack.

If you get a chance to date billionaires, they require their date to get a blood test
because they don’t want to get infectious disease like STD; you tell him/her you’re a
blood donor; you can’t pass the filter screening if you have infectious diseases.
