San Francisco Wine School Offers Intro to Wine/Food Paring April 13th in Downtown South City

South San Francisco, CA  April 7, 2023

SF Wine School is located at 415 Grand Avenue South San Francisco

Have you ever wanted to know more about wines, especially how to pair good wine with good food? We may believe we have some basic knowledge such as white wine is preferred with lighter fare or red wine with heartier dishes.

For those who want to expand their knowledge now is the time – our local San Francisco Wine School is offering a hybrid class, Intro to Food Pairing next Thursday, April 13th from 6p-8 pm at their downtown South City location.

Can you create perfect pairings or are you paralyzed by the rules? Learn basic food pairing theories and see how different styles of wine interact with primary flavor components. Come taste many combinations and discuss the impact on your palate. Learn your preferences and those in the class and improve your confidence with new pairing knowledge!

This workshop focuses on wine structure and flavor interactions and does not include food.

This workshop may be taken as part of our Intro Series or individually a la carté. Your workshop fees can be applied to the cost of the full series if you would like to continue on. Payment plans are available for the full series.

Group discounts are available.  Contact for more information.

This is a great introduction class that can be added to San Francisco Wine School coursework which can lead to your certification as a Sommelier and open up a whole new world of pleasure and employment opportunities.

The San Francisco Wine School was founded in 2011 by David Glancy who started his career as a dishwasher and busboy at the young age of 15.  He then continued in the restaurant industry, including management with world-renowned establishments. One memorable experience was serving Muhammad Ali when he managed a restaurant in Macau, China!

This real-world experience prepared Glancy to understand the need to have fuller knowledge of all aspects of restaurant management moving him to take the Court of Master Sommelier Introductory exam in 1996. From there nothing could stop his continued desire to learn more leading him to be one of twelve people in the world to have both credentials of a Master Sommelier AND Certified Wine Educator. He has led an interesting life and shares his experiences and knowledge during the classes the SF Wine School offers in person and via Zoom.
