KP-SSF supports Swishes for Dishes with Adonal Foyle, the Golden State Warriors and Second Harvest Food Bank

South San Francisco, CA  May 26, 2023

South San Francisco has a big heart that extends to our local businesses as proven by the employees of Kaiser Permanente and their help ensuring our most vulnerable local neighbors have food along with the opportunity to meet celebs!

This week, 20+ Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco volunteers assembled healthy bags of food at a local drive-through distribution center at Daly City’s Bayshore Elementary School in support of Swishes for Dishes, a volunteer opportunity presented by Kaiser Permanente in collaboration with the Golden State Warriors and The Athlete’s Corner.

Kaiser Permanente South San Francisco Physician-in-Chief, Dr. John Skerry, and other leaders from the South San Francisco medical center volunteered to provide community members with free and nutritious groceries through Second Harvest of Silicon Valley.

“Taking care of our community is a team sport and so it was incredibly gratifying to partner with the Golden State Warriors, Second Harvest of Silicon Valley and the Athletes Corner to distribute so many meals today. Kaiser Permanente is committed to Total Health and that starts with proper nutrition. While providing edible nourishment is important for people in the communities we serve, it was nourishment for my soul to be part of this effort,” said Dr. Skerry.
