SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., May 10, 2023 – The long-awaited reopening of the South San Francisco Farmers’ Market is finally happening as vendors gear up to bring their fruits, vegetables, hummus, fresh baked goods, honey, and a host of other foods to choose from.

“This highly anticipated reopening of our Farmers’ Market will surely draw a crowd this Saturday,” said South San Francisco Mayor Flor Nicolas. “We have dozens of new vendors that have been added, as well as hot food that you can sit and enjoy before or after you do your shopping.”

The South San Francisco Farmers’ Market will be held in the same location as previous years, in the back parking lot of the Joseph A. Fernekes building. It will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This Saturday, May 13, is the special grand re-opening of the market. In addition to the dozens of new vendors and free tote bag giveaways to the first 50 people in attendance, live music will be performed by the El Camino High School jazz band.

“Our residents have been patiently waiting through the Covid-19 pandemic for the Farmers’ Market to reopen. The even better news is that this market will be year-round, allowing you to make this a part of your Saturday routine,” added Mayor Nicolas.
