PACKAGE THIEVES IDENTIFIED: On August 29th, 2023, our Officers investigated two separate package thefts from the Avalon neighborhood and they were both captured on video surveillance. Later during their shift, one of our Officers was on a call when he recognized one of the suspects, 15 year old Juvenile out of South San Francisco. During the investigation, the Officer was able to recover the stolen items and also identified a second suspect, 19 year old out of South San Francisco. This investigation is ongoing and we would like to thank the Officer for a great job, for having a vigilant eye and identifying these package thieves. We appreciate your investigative work in this case.
There are a few things you can do to prevent package thefts. Track your packages and get real time alerts when your package has been delivered. You can also require a signature for delivery. Using a package locker if you are not going to be home and installing video cameras.
