On Thursday night, April 24, 2014 at around 9:15 PM, South San Francisco Police Officers arrested two armed robbery suspects, who are suspected of having victimized women using Centennial Trail alone
Over the last two weeks, women using Centennial Trail had been robbed on two separate occasions, by suspects with similar physical descriptions and methods of operation. In the two previous robberies, both women were walking or running alone, and a pistol was brandished or used to pistol-whip a victim
Due to these similarities, South San Francisco Police developed a Special Operations Plan, which included the placing of an undercover female police officer on Centennial Trail under surveillance. The suspects took this opportunity, resulting in two juvenile suspects armed with a replica firearm being taken into custody. No one was injured during this event.
Due to their ages, the suspects’ names have been withheld. Both suspects were transported to Juvenile Hall, where they await charges related to these robberies. Anyone with information which might assist successful prosecution is encouraged to contact the South San Francisco Police Department at (650) 877-8900 or the Anonymous Tip Line at (650) 952-2244
