South San Francisco Friends of Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, September 6, 2014. This fundraising event will be held at the Joseph A. Fernekes Building at Orange Memorial Park in South San Francisco from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. To register as a cooking team please contact Judy Bush at (650) 588-0459 or Jeannette Holt at (650) 588-0727 before August 15, 2014.
A panel of chili experts will taste each dish and vote on the best chili in South San Francisco. Hopeful cooking teams will compete for prizes and for the title of “Best Chili” and “People’s Choice.” Participants can purchase a Chili Tasting Kit for $10.00 at the event and sample all the chili dishes. Music and prize drawings are also scheduled, and refreshments including hot dogs, beer, wine and water will be sold at the event.
All proceeds benefit programs of the South San Francisco Friends of Parks and Recreation Projects.
