...STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS ACROSS THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA THROUGH
MIDDAY WEDNESDAY...
...FREEZING TEMPERATURES LIKELY ACROSS INLAND PORTIONS OF THE SAN
FRANCISCO BAY AREA AND MONTEREY BAY AREA LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO
THURSDAY MORNING...

A COLD AND DRY STORM SYSTEM SWEPT INTO THE AREA EARLY THIS
MORNING. THIS STORM SYSTEM WILL PRODUCE STRONG AND GUSTY NORTH TO
NORTHEAST WINDS ACROSS THE ENTIRE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA AND SANTA
CRUZ COUNTY THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED
IN THE HILLS OF THE NORTH AND EAST BAY. THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL
BE BETWEEN LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND LATE TUESDAY NIGHT. WINDS
WILL GRADUALLY SUBSIDE ON WEDNESDAY.

THE COLD AND DRY AIRMASS THAT WILL SWEEP ACROSS THE REGION ON
TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT WILL RESULT IN FREEZING NIGHTTIME
TEMPERATURES ONCE WINDS SUBSIDE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SEVERAL HOURS
OF FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS INLAND PORTIONS OF
THE SAN FRANCISCO AND MONTEREY BAY AREAS FROM LATE WEDNESDAY
NIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING.

* TIMING: MIDDAY TUESDAY THROUGH MIDDAY WEDNESDAY. STRONGEST
  WINDS EXPECTED FROM LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY
  NIGHT.

* WINDS: SUSTAINED NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WITH
  GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

* IMPACTS: DOWNED TREES AND POWER LINES. POWER OUTAGES.
  DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS...ESPECIALLY ON AREA BRIDGES.

* LOCATIONS: ALL COASTAL AND BAY SIDE SECTIONS OF THE SAN
  FRANCISCO BAY AREA AS WELL AS NORTHERN MONTEREY BAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WIND GUSTS OF AT LEAST 45 MPH ARE
EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN TOPPLE TREES AND LEAD TO POWER
OUTAGES. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN ALSO MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...
ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION.
