The South San Francisco Unified School District Board of Trustees appointed Julie Erskine as principal at Ponderosa Elementary School during the board’s April 9 meeting.
She has been working in the District since 2000. She began her career in South San Francisco as a Title I reading teacher at Hillside Elementary School.
She then taught at various grade levels at Spruce Elementary School and became an assistant principal there and at Buri Buri Elementary School this past September.
She will move to Ponderosa to replace former principal Garry Galvan.
According to Judith Bush, president of the board, the vote to appoint Ms. Erskine was unanimous in closed session.
