South San Francisco, CA May 6, 2015 Submitted by Judy Bush, SSFUSD Board of Trustees President
Dear Staff and Community Members,
As you may be aware, the Board of Trustees has initiated a search for our new Superintendent. To assist us in this important process, we have retained Dr. William Levinson and Barbara Young of Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, Ltd., a search firm that specializes in assisting boards with the identification and selection of superintendents.
One important step in this process is the identification of the qualities and characteristics we will be looking for in our new superintendent. Your input is very valuable and the entire Board of Trustees invites you to participate in the identification of these characteristics by completing an online survey available via the link below. This survey is designed to gather your perception of the importance of various characteristics found in effective superintendents. The survey will be available through Sunday, May 17, 2015.
The search firm will also be meeting staff and community members the week of May 11th. The Trustees invite all parents and community members to participate by attending a Community Forum on Tuesday, May 12th at 7:30pm in the Gym at Baden High School (825 Southwood Drive, SSF, CA 94080). There will also be scheduled meetings throughout the week with key district support groups, students, certificated employees, classified employees, and administrators.
Your input will be included in a Superintendent Leadership Profile that will be presented to the Board of Trustees. The community will be notified of this meeting. Following the meeting, the Profile will be on our website. The Trustees will then use the Superintendent Leadership Profile to help guide our search for a new leader for the South San Francisco Unified School District.
Thank you for your participation in this process.
Sincerely,
Judy Bush
President, Board of Trustees
