On Sunday June 21, 2015 at approximately 12:40 AM, South San Francisco Police Department Police Officers contacted Ronaldo Ocumen driving the wrong-way on Westborough Boulevard at Gellert Boulevard, traveling directly at an oncoming police officer. Officers noticed major front end damage to Ocurnen’s vehicle and determined Ocumen had been involved in a solo-vehicle traffic collision with a palm tree near the intersection of Westborough Boulevard and Gellert Boulevard. Ocumen was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threating injuries he sustained from the traffic collision with the tree.
Ocumen was determined to be operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol with a blood-alcohol level of almost double the legal limit. Ocumen was subsequently placed under arrest for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
