Bay Area Small Business Expo Slated for October 14 at SSF Conference Center

South San Francisco, CA    July 30, 2015    Submitted by Sheri Boles, CPUC

I am pleased to share with you that the CPUC and Comcast, in collaboration with the Department of General Services and Bay Area Business Roundtable, are hosting a Bay Area Small Business Expo on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South San Francisco Conference Center. The event is free and open to small/diverse business owners.

As backgrounder, the CPUC holds two free Small Business Expos each year throughout the state to promote business opportunities and provide resources to small/diverse-owned businesses. Resources include a vendor fair, educational workshops, and business matchmaking sessions (at business matchmaking sessions, which are pre-scheduled, small/diverse business owners meet one-on-one with procurement specialists who represent local/state agencies and the state’s major utilities, i.e. AT&T, Comcast, PG&E, Southern California Edison, Verizon, California Water Association, and Sempra (includes SDG&E and SoCal Gas). I have attached an event flyer, which provides the agenda and topics of the three workshops.

As I understand running a small business is a 24/7 job, I also know that the more time these hard-working and dedicated business owners have to plan to leave their business and attend an off-site meeting and/or event, the better. So, I really appreciate any advanced publicity to South San Francisco’s small/diverse business owners!

UPDATE: I have exciting news to share with you regarding the CPUC/Comcast’s Bay Area Small Business Expo on 10/14/15 and the City of South San Francisco’s participation! South San Francisco Mayor Richard Garbarino will be our special guest! And, South San Francisco’s Finance/Purchasing Dept. will be joining us!
