SamTrans will host four community meetings and a public hearing to gather feedback on potential changes to its fare policy.
The bus agency has not raised fares since 2010, and as result, has proposed several updates to its current fare program.
The first series of proposed fare increases would take place on January 10, 2016, and the second would come on January 20, 2019. Among the proposed changes include a measure to increase the Adult Local Fare to $2.25 on January 20, 2016 and to $2.50 on January 20, 2019. The fare currently stands at $2.
The fare increase package would also increase the Adult Monthly Pass from $64 to $65.50 on January 10, 2016 and to $72 on January 20, 2019.
A full breakdown of the proposed fare changes can be found here.
