Would you like to help an El Camino Senior explore career options in your field? We are in need of Mentors from all professions to provide meaningful experiences to interested students. As part of their Senior Capstone Project, students need to complete 25 hours of a volunteer internship with a company, business, or organization outside of school. I am looking for community members who would be willing to work with a high school senior in their field. In the past, our students have worked with software developers, dentists, radio personalities, beauticians, and regional managers, among numerous other mentors. Our students have career interests that span a wide range–chances are there’s a senior who would like to learn from you!
We have about 350 seniors that all need mentors, and I’m hoping to identify some potential mentors through this outreach. The 25 hours will need to be completed by April 15th, 2016, and students must complete all 25 hours at one location, although the mentor need not work directly with the student for all 25 hours. Interested people can contact me at pardinger@ssfusd.org
Thank you,
Mr. Patrick Ardinger
